C'mon, no one was talking about the win after that...it was all about the firing, in that sense it stole Ducharme's first win thunder and had the effect of a bomb |

To continue, I agree. Not having a goal in OT doesn't make one definitively useless in OT. The Anderson part confuses me as well. More my point is if you're arguing based on stats, provide the stats, otherwise I question your entire argument.
I also think Suzuki and Anderson with Petry could be decent in overtime but either way they have to stop bleeding points because they can't play in any situation half as well as they do 5 on 5. |

Depends if Anderson is able to adapt his style of play, the OT is a game of possession if he takes himself out of the play with a big hit, he's not useful if he uses his speed and scoring touch, he would be great.
Gally in OT doesn't make too much sense because he lacks speed, that's a very useful skill in OT and it's not the kind of goals he normally score that end the OT period. Players are shooting for rebounds for him to bury, they are shooting to win because they cannot afford to lose possession. |

And Galchenyuk is tied for most OT goals in 1 season in NHL history, that says a lot too
Also, Anderson has scored in OT, just not in the whole 18 games he's played in Montreal

Toews lacks speed and he has a ton of OT goals |

I don't disagee with any of this but they need to find something that works. They're either the best or near the top in 5 on 5 stats (at least according to this weeks 31 thoughts) but are awful on the pp, pk and ot. Something has to get figured out, leaving points on the ice gets old quick |

It says that modern regular season OT is a joke and absolutely nothing like the real game. It's a poop gimmick like the shootout that decides games in a way that is barely relative to the actual game being played |

at 3x3, high end talent will more often than not win. Habs don't have high end talent. that's why they're very good at 5x5, with their depth, but suck in OT.
you can play Anderson all you want, that won't change a thing.
and that'a also why once in the playoffs, Habs could be a very dangerous team, much more than TOR or EDM. |

Don't get me wrong, it's entertaining and action packed...it just isn't NHL hockey. It's pond hockey at best |

Taking the defense out of it... the equivalent of going to a T-Ball for MLB extra innings... and the shotout is absolute garbage! |

I agree completely. The Habs are built to play NHL hockey, not Gary's gimmicks for casual yanks. I also agree the Habs also lack elite talent and game breakers but that can be masked better 5 on 5 than in other situations.
At this point I'd settle for a passable pp and pk and be happy |

Only good things about the shootout ever is the Peter Forsberg goal (despite losing - pretty sure that Burke was in net for that actually) and Marchand missing the puck |

Should also have one for people suffering from the Denial Syndrome...
This isn't unusual, and most people eventually accept the diagnosis. But sometimes, the rejection is long-lasting, and it's not simply denial that's causing a person to reject the facts. It's a condition called anosognosia. This loosely means “lack of awareness or insight” in Greek
